​KUMASI – A heavy-duty vehicle overturned at the Asokwa Brewery traffic light intersection on Sunday night, March 22, causing significant traffic disruptions but resulting in no loss of life.
​The accident involved a long vehicle truck with registration number AS 8894-12. According to the driver, the vehicle was fully loaded at Wood Village and was en route to Accra when the incident occurred at approximately 8:00 PM.
​In a statement following the crash, the driver confirmed that despite the scale of the accident, no injuries or fatalities were recorded. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after to assess the situation and manage the wreckage.
​The overturned truck created a massive gridlock, affecting commuters from all four directions of the busy intersection. The congestion heavily impacted:
​Commuters descending from the Asokwa Overhead.
​Drivers traveling through the Cina Mall (China Mall) stretch.
​Traffic police remained on-site through the night to direct vehicles and oversee the recovery of the truck.

​Authorities are urging motorists to exercise extreme caution and patience while the area is cleared. Drivers are advised to explore alternative routes where possible and to strictly adhere to road safety measures to prevent further incidents on this high-traffic corridor.
